13) I spoke too soon...

The morning started out great until about 9am. Then the heartburn was back. I finally called my doctor's office and they prescribed me some meds for that and also for pain & sleeping (for next treatment). I just took one of the heartburn meds so I hope that kicks in soon. I have my final dentist appointment tomorrow and blood work on Thursday. So I might not have too many updates after this.

Sorry to hear you're having a harder time. I can relate, girlfriend. It's a darn shame we have to go through this whole thing, but I have to say it gives me comfort to be able to check in with you and see how you're doing along the way as well.

Here's to hearing you're feeling much, much better when you post next, sweetie. We just need to count 'em down. :)

You know, I'd never had heartburn before chemo. I didn't even know what it was the first time. But the big one is sleeping. I wake up in the middle of the night aching. Aching, tired and bored. And TV at 2:00 in the morning seems to be a lot of infomercials.

Glad you're getting meds to take care of it. Post when you feel like it, we'll be here.

Sorry to hear you are having heart burn. I, too have had heart burn on a small scale. It is no fun! The bone aches are a pain for me. Of course the medicine always knocks you out. I guess I have decide if I want to sleep or be in pain. I hope you are feeling better.

You know, I take Allegra for allergies, and I also take Prevacid for an esophogeal problem I have. I've been told that both of these will help me during my chemotherapy: the Prevacid for the requisite heartburn, and the Allegra, for the antihistamine quality that is supposed to help a LOT with the bone and joint pain resulting from the Neulasta shots.

I would strongly suggest that both of you inquire about these because I've heard this repeatedly, and from more than just my oncologist.

I'm not taking the shots yet, because we're seeing how my white counts go before we start them, but I haven't experienced any heartburn, and that might be because I'm already on the Prevacid.

Hi Heather, I am posting anonymously this time. I realize that I have been talking to your mom all this time and following your progress that way, instead of talking to you or even calling you which I just tried, but I realize that you must be at work. As of a few days ago I came across some wedding pictures of yours and remember the wonderful time we had together -- that was also the last time I saw you, I believe. So, dear Heather, I am proud of your courage and the determination you have to beat this -- the mind is a powerful thing. I will picture you whole and complete and will send you healing energy. Much love, Ute

Oh I forgot, you hair cut is even more adorable in person I love the way it is inverted in the back. You do a great job styling it.
